The Chronicles of Narnia

We went to see the "Chronicles of Narnia - The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe" on Christmas Eve (we've been doing this for a couple of years now, ever since we moved to Canada. The first three years we always went to see the newest Lord of the Rings movie, so the Narnia film seemed appropriate). I was pleasantly surpised by the movie - it closely followed the book's plot, and aside from the white witch having some nazi-like regalia, the movie was utterly gorgeous. It also seems as if they used the same beautiful backdrops in New Zealand that Peter Jackson used for LOTR, (which is a good thing). I also enjoyed the music, which was a welcome diversion from the usual, heavy-handed John Williams hollywood blockbuster score. The end titles was accompanied by a stirring piece of music from Imogen Heap, who has a beautiful and ethereal voice. There was also a song by Alanis Morrisette at the end. Oh yes, an if you're one of those idiots who always storm out of the cinema at the start of the end titles, you missed a vital bit of the movie, stupid!
