Settling

Still settling in here...Maybe the house wil start looking like a home in a month or two. Also still getting used to driving on the left side of the road again (they say it's like driving a bike - you never forget, except here, if you fall of your bike, the drivers will run you over. And then back up over you again.).
It is a dry country - there has been permanent water restrictions here for the past three years (the brilliant politicans here call it 'water conservation measures', and cringe at the word 'restrictions').
And, speaking of politicos, many of the speeches of the politicians here sound eerily similar to Bushisms...
We're getting our phone and internet setup in two weeks time (horrific, isn't it?), and I'll be able to make more regular updates again.
I went to the Happy Baker this morning. I had a danish and coffee. I thought about you and Hannelie. When are you coming back? :)
Check spelling of "CaNbera" under your photo, unless you mean anything specific by leaving out the "n".
Hmmmm the Happy Baker ... please don't tell us next time you have waffles at the Delta, I will curl up and die! We will be back as soon as this postdoc thing of mine is out of the way ... unless we find a really great breakfast place here in Canberra ;-)
If you find a great breakfast place let me know. We'll have to come down and check it out!
