Dispatches from the sunburned wastelands

We celebrated my birthday on Sunday with some friends at the Diplomat, a Fredricton institution. Although not known for it's culinary tradition, it does have a relatively inexpensive Chinese/Canadian buffet (and some good desserts). That's me in the picture, busily getting older while impatiently waiting for the camera-tricks to finish, so that I can eat my cake!
