Dispatches from the sunburned wastelands

So, after a crazy few weeks, Hannelie is finally settled in at her new job in Halifax (at St. Mary's U), while I'm still slaving away here in Fredericton. Oh well...
So many things happened all at once during the last two weeks that I would want to talk about, the devastation of New Orleans being probably the first one on my list. But, everybody surely have their own opinion of that, and have been bombarded by so much imagery from the scene of the crime (so to speak), that I will suffice with this: If you had evidence that a major disaster might strike your city at any time, but did nothing to prevent it from happening, are you not to be held accountable for what you have done (or didn't do)? That's all I'm going to say on this topic...
