Last days in Fredericton
Thursday, October 06, 2005
The last week in Fredericton went by like a, well, like the last week before one becomes unemployed, I suppose. I was madly rushing around tying up last minute strings, and making last-minute presentations to the powers-that-be in New Brunswick. On Friday, people at work had a goodbye lunch for me at Seasons, a chinese restaurant next to the Fredrickton boat club, with a beautiful setting next to the river. Some of my "groupies" (ex-summer students) were also there (that's them on the photo above, and me trying to look bored).
Received a particularly large truck from U-haul on Saturday (not the one I ordered), and with the help of our good friends Beatta & Stephen, we got everything on the truck. After an exhausting drive to Halifax on Sunday, we were surpised to discover three haligonian (that means Halifaxians, Olga) South African expats waiting to help us unload. Thanks a bunch, you guys!
