A stroll past the Frog Pond

Thursday, October 20, 2005

Today, being the first sunny day in a long while, I decided to try and discover some of the less obvious walking trails and parks in Halifax (I've already been to Point Pleasant Park a few times). I went for a walk in Sir Sandford Fleming Park, which is just off the Purcells Cove Road, on the Northwest Arm of the Halifax basin. There's a beautiful walking trail that starts from a car park next to the road, and does winding loop around Frog Lake (or Frog Pond, as the locals call it). Venturing further downhill, I also discovered a paved walkway along the shore, with nice picnic area (should remember that for the spring!), and also an old tower structure.
