Dispatches from the sunburned wastelands

The last couple of days were just beautiful, here in Nova Scotia - mostly clear blue skies and sunshine (I think the temperature went up to 12 degrees Celsius yesterday!). If I sound like a weather report, it's because this weather is pretty unusual for this time of year. We haven't had any significant snowfall in ages, and I'm sure the grass is starting to turn green again. Last year this time the poor Haligonians were still recovering from a massive snowstorm that dumped almost 100 cm of snow on the city. This year, however it seems that winter has ended early - there's already been reports of tornados in the American mid-west, and I wouldn't be surprised if there is a hurricane brewing somewhere in the mid-Atlantic. Brace yourselves for more nasty weather....I wonder if the politicians will finally admit that there is something wrong with the earth's climate, and start doing something about it. Nah, probably not.
