Dispatches from the sunburned wastelands

It seems that Summer has finally arrived here in NB...while it's still spring in Halifax, hie-hie ;) Everything has suddenly turned green and lush, and there is now a wild jungle growing at the back door, obscuring my view of the river. The cottage still has its winter windows up, which makes it quite toasty inside, unfortunately...I can't take them off, because there's no flyscreens, and as every maritimer will tell you, it's getting to be dreaded blackfly season soon, and the mosquitoes are already roaming around the house in bullying swarms...But even so, like the New Brunswick hillbilly folk group Isaac & Blewitt sings, "It's beautiful, look around".
