Blue skies (& foggy ones too)

I spent the weekend in Halifax with Hannelie, filling out forms again (will it never end?). This is the update on our current situation: While we were in the process of attempting to acquire permanent residence status in Canada, (a truly onerous process), Hannelie was offered a 3-year post-doctoral position at the CSIRO in Australia...Not only are they offering her a generous package, but they're also willing to shoulder most of the immigration & relocation burdens that we had to slog through ourselves here in Canada. Meanwhile, (he said, sounding a bit like a mystery writer), our New Brunswick provincial nominee certificates came through on Friday, paving the way for our lawyer to try and get our soon-to-be expired visas renewed. So what do we do? (Look for the answer in the coming weeks...Hee-hee)On Saturday it was a bit too cloudy to do anything outdoorsy, so we waited till today, and upon seeing the bright sunshine and deep blue sky for what seems like the first time in weeks, we jumped in the old Volvo and drove out towards Herring Cove to get some "ocean time". There's some great real Atlantic ocean scenery and beaches just up the road from central Halifax, which makes it such a nice place to live. However, Halifax has a funny climate, and let no-one tell you otherwise - when we got to our usual lookout spot, it was shrouded in a cold, dense fog. Just about 5 km back towards Halifax, the fog lifted, and the sky was a clear, crisp blue again.
Hey Hannes.
I'm glad that you got the papers you were waiting for. Your Lawyer will come through for you. Otherwise he doesn't get paid! I called a few times on the weekend, but now I know you went to Halifax.
I'll call you asap. :)
Pheeew, happy to hear that.
So now just 1xx more forms to fill up and in few winters before you notice you'll have the residence ;)
