Polite Indecision

After receiving countless "window-shopping" calls from haligonians feigning interest in taking over our Halifax apartment lease, Hannelie says she's just about had it with these people. They make appointments to look a the apartment, and then don't show up, or when they do come, they pretend to be interested, telling her oh so politely they'll give her a call "in the morning", only to disappear without ever calling her back. What's wrong with you people? That is just plain rude!! It's the worst kind of spineless behaviour I've ever encountered...If you're not interested in the place, just say so!
And, while I'm having a rant, why is it so damn expensive to move anything around, or out of this country? We've been (trying) to get quotes from international moving companies, to see whether we'd be able to take some of our stuff with us to Australia. The (only) Canadian companies which did eventually come back to us (most didn't want to give us the time of day), is charging about twice the amount that the South African moving companies are quoting. That is for less than half the amount of stuff we want to send from South Africa...No wonder everybody here just rent a u-haul when they want to move...How about a U-haul to Oz? :-)
Geez Hannes, with all the compalining you do about Canada (and those of us who so patriotically call Canada home)I have to wonder if you really want to stay. :)Seems to me that you should either like it or lump it haha.... how's that for polite Canadian speak. hahaha
'Like it or Lump it'...Sounds like a Bushism to me...Anyway, doesn't matter where I go, I 'm a born Un-patriot!
I know the frustration. When we went looking for a place to rent, the people would also tell us that they'll call us tomorrow to tell us if we got the place... and then they don't. I HATE it when people cannot just face up to things and tell you in your face that the answer is NO.
