Weather Report

It's been a dry, hot spring thus far, with zero rainfall and record high temperatures for September - And weather forecasters here are predicting a very dry, hot summer. If it doesn't rain soon, Canberra authorities will institute what they call "Level II" water restrictions in the city (maybe that means we'll have to start showering with beer?). Anyway, it's such a stark contrast to the past year's spring and early summer in Canada, when it felt as if it won't ever stop raining...Careful what you wish for, is what I say. The little bits of green grass that popped up, very optimistic during September, is now quickly been reduced to shriveled little twigs by the unforgiving southern sun. This is prime weather for the massive bush fires that the region has become know for, and , after all, this is the reason we are here...(I keep on telling myself that).
