It doesn't feel like Christmas

It sure doesn't feel like Christmas is coming. Here we are, back in the southern hemisphere, and it all just feels so wrong! The stars are off-kilter, the sun isn't where it is supposed to be, it's hot and dry, and despite the shopping malls that are all decked out and jingly all the way, I just don't feel in the spirit of the thing. I always laugh myself silly when I see the poor, sweaty Father Christmas in the mall - you'd expect they would have invented the short-sleeved version of the red suit by now...We also don't know enough people to invite to a Christmas party (and we sure don't get any invites), so I guess we'll just skip the whole thing this year (especially since Hannelie's office Christmas party will be themed: everybody is supposed to dress up as pirates...Santa with an eyepatch? WTF?). Maybe it's just the lack of snow outside, or that we miss the smells of Christmas, like cinnamon and hot apple cider...I just don't see the point this year. What do you think we should do?

I think you should find as many people as you can (even if it's only 2) and make your own Canadian Christmas party!! Hannelie is pretty creative, I'm sure you will do Christmas justice even without the snow. Download some Martime Christmas music (if you can't find any, let me know, I'll get you some)blast the AC, decorate a gum tree with popcorn strings and celebrate!!
If that doesn't tickle you, then just get really stinking drunk, sit on your front step and tell everyone passing by that Christmas in Aus sucks...
    No? hahaha
