Wintersong

I got Sarah Mclachlan's new CD "Wintersong" from good old Amazon yesterday, and it made me very happy. I decided to order it to try and get us into the mood for Christmas (I got some other goodies too, but they're hidden away until Christmas). I'm very glad I did - the CD is excellent (even though it's a 'Christmas'-album, something that every other pop star seem to do around this time of year). Her dreamy, melancholy interpretation of Lennon's 'Happy Xmas' (So this is Christmas) is just fabulous...And you've never heard 'The Fist Noel' sounding quite as trip-pop as this. The title song, which is new, is really good too. Go and listen to it (there's a Youtube video below), it's really worth it. Anyway, I thought that songs featuring wintery stuff, like ice and snowflakes and such would divert our minds from the horridly dry conditions we're facing here. Instead, it just made us miserable, missing our friends and family on far and distant continents.
