Freezing in Australia
Tuesday, June 26, 2007
It's been raining steadily all day, and this afternoon while driving from work, I noticed a dusting of snow on the mountains surrounding Canberra. Apparently, this kind of weather used to be the norm, up to five or six years ago, when the drought started. Hopefully this change in the weather will continue for the rest of winter...The place looks really miserable when it's bone-dry at the end of winter, like it did last year when we arrived. There has also been some heavy frost almost every morning for the last week, and all this freezing weather has caused my cold to stay with me for far longer than anticipated (sniffle). Anyway, if this cold and wet weather continues, we'll soon be building snowmen on the sunburned wastelands...
pretty picture. sorry to hear you're still sick.
Hey Hannes,
It's been a pleasure reading your blog. Nice to catch up a bit on how you've been. I sent you an email - not sure if you got it. If not, drop me a line: amandakhan1@gmail.com.
Take care,
Amanda
