Dispatches from the sunburned wastelands

Well, it's supposed to be autumn...and it's supposed to look like the picture above (taken in 2003 near Parrsboro, Nova Scotia). But it's already deep into October, and it's nothing like that around here. The trees are staging a strike, it seems. Global warming, climate change and this past summer's heavy air pollution over the eastern seaboard have taken their toll on the trees. So what's in the future? Not only will Nova Scotia be devastated by more frequent floods, hurricanes, etc, but the Province may also lose some of its most beautiful features - the fall colours.
