Wet, wet, wet

We had a truly miserable thanksgiving weekend here in Halifax - it rained close to 130 mm (and it's still drizzling outside as I write this). We missed Shelly's thanksgiving turkey in Fredericton...(you'll have to bring us some Caribou for Christmas instead). Seeing as how we've been stuck inside the apartment almost the whole weekend, here is a picture of the inside of our place.

And, talking about pictures, have I mentioned the kind of camera I'm using? No? Well, here goes: it's a Panasonic Lumix DMC LC-70 digital camera. It's (very) small and compact, much the same as most of the other point-and-shoot digital cameras on the market, but it's also very different. Panasonic collaborated with one of the classic companies in professional photography, Leica, to devise a cheap(ish) digital camera using Leica optics, so that us mere mortals would be able to afford it. A genuine Leica digital camera sells for about 20 times the price of a Panasonic Lumix... As you can see from the photos on this blog, the results with the little Lumix is excellent. Maybe one day someone will give me a Leica for Christmas, but until then, this will do.

Don't be such a geek! The pictures are good because you took them not because of the camera properties ... and stop fishing for expensive Christmas gifts :-D
