Bringing home the bugs

Apologies for keeping my (three readers in suspense) - I not only brought the Mother-in-Law back from Sydney, but also a nasty stomach bug, and when that was finished with me, the flu started. Guess that's what you get for spending time at a children's hospital...I've only just started picking up my weary body from the floor, and ran straight to the computer to post (ha-ha). The operation in Sydney went very well (apart from some traumatized parents), but kudos to the friendly and supportive staff at the Sydney Children's hospital, they were really great, and all deserve medals.
Cut here, and don't touch the rest of me!:
After the operation, Martin's funky purple casts were replaced by electric-blue fibreglass casts, which he now has to wear until the end of the month. Hopefully, if the operation was a success, that will be replaced with special shoes with braces, to be worn for the next six months or so.
Grandmother & Baby Martin with new blue casts:
I'm glad to hear all went well with Martin.
Mooi so Botha's, hoop Martin sterk goed aan en julle oorleef die storie met vreugde - in hind sight. Span is oppad Waenhuikrans toe, sien julle weer 17 April. Tjeers
Great to hear that everything went well. and i hope the both of you feel better soon!
Oh, and happy Canberra Day!
Thanks, everyone.
Canberra Day was celebrated by over 4000 youths getting poop-drunk, climbing on statues and falling in the lake, where they had to be fished out by the police...
i see that even halfway across the world you're still dealing with 'them boys'.
