The return of Spring

Monday, September 21, 2009

Spring is regarded by many Canberrans as their favourite season, and here's one of the (many) reasons why: Floriade is in full bloom again. I visited the festival on Sunday. Too many people for my liking, but it was a glorious day.

Of course, many hayfever-sufferers in Canberra hate Spring...

Flower Fest

Saturday, September 29, 2007

It's springtime here in the Capital Territory, and so Hannelie & the Little Monster went to Floriade last week...I was sick (again), and couldn't join them.

Floriade is a huge annual flower show (biggest in the southern hemisphere, so they tell me) staged here in Canberra, in Commonwealth Park, on the banks of Lake Burley Griffin. Masses of flowers everywhere.

The LM seemed to have enjoyed the outing very much.
