Dispatches from the sunburned wastelands

And we all thought paper and scissors only made snowflakes and paper dolls...There's an interesting hoax e-mail doing the rounds, showcasing incredible paper art, and claiming that it was:

Entries for an art contest at the Hirshorn Modern Art Gallery in DC. The rule was that the artist could use only one sheet of paper.

The art is real, but the gallery in question didn't hold the competition, and it's all done by one artist, a Danish fellow by the name of Peter Callesen. Why anybody would start using his art in a chain-letter e-mail is beyond me. However, maybe it was a clever marketing strategy, because a lot of people are talking and blogging about it...Anyway, here's some more of his works:
